The Word 'Cultivate'

If you want something that lasts a season – grow rice.
If you want something that lasts ten years – grow bamboo.
If you want something that lasts a hundred years – grow trees
If you want something that lasts an eternity –cultivate people!
--an adaptation of a Chinese Proverb
I Joe was asked in a leadership program to find one word that I felt represented my passion. The word 'cultivate' came to mind. This word excites me because I look at the process of anything that is growing and see cultivation is the key to bring health, strength and reproduction. God is the one who sustains the miracle of life; we steward it. So I see my job to be a cultivator of people.
.
Cultivation is a key to any growth for plants. The same goes for people. In this generation we not only want to be cultivated to our fullest potential, but to see others touch unlimited possibilities. Three areas of cultivation are:

1st Plowing- this is the digging up, assessing and preparation time for the soil of our lives.

Planting- this is watering, fertilizing, and planting of vision and direction to our lives.

Producing- this is the ability to have lasting life giving fruit that will be duplicated in others
